How to reach Triund trek

How to reach Triund trek from Delhi🛣️🛣️

Although I considered traveling by an airplane and thereafter continued my journey by a cab, here are different options you can consider!

  • Flying: Delhi to Gaggal Airport in Dharamshala was the quickest route. Once there, McLeodganj was just a short taxi or bus ride away.
  • On the Road: Both private and state-run buses operate daily services from Delhi to Dharamshala and McLeodganj. The journey usually takes around 10-12 hours.
  • Train Ride: From Pathankot, McLeodganj is about 90 km away, easily covered by a taxi or bus.

McLeodganj Stopover

Once in McLeodganj, I took a day to acclimatize and roam around. The town is vibrant, offering a mix of cafes, hotels, and shops where I could rent or buy any last-minute trekking gear.

To the Trek’s Starting Point

  • Walking: Many trekkers suggest walking from McLeodganj to the trek’s starting point as a good warm-up. It takes about an hour.
  • Taxi Ride: To save energy for the trek, I opted for a taxi. It took me closer to the starting point, dropping me off near Dharamkot.
