Getting Ready for Takeoff

The next morning, I awoke with a mixture of excitement and trepidation as I prepared to take to the skies. Bir is well-known for its paragliding chances, and I had chosen to give this adrenaline-pumping sport a try. After a brief breakfast, I drove to Billing, a little distance from Bir, for the takeoff.

Paragliding Cost💰💸💸

The cheapest paragliding in Bir Billing is Rs 2790 per person for a 15-20 minute flight. A long fly, on the other hand, would cost Rs 4100.

Flying High🪂🪂🪂

I was strapped into a harness, standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to take flight when the moment comes. I sprinted a few steps with the help of an experienced paragliding instructor before my feet abruptly departed the ground. The sensation of weightlessness, combined with the panoramic view of the mountains below, was simply bizarre.

I could see the spreading valleys, sprinkled with picturesque settlements, as if they were miniature landscapes as I flew through the air. The only sound I could hear was the rush of wind in my ears as the cool breeze swept against my face. It was a perfect moment of freedom and happiness.

Exploring Bir’s Charm

Tibetan monasteries

While paragliding was unquestionably the highlight of my trip, Bir has a lot more to offer. I spent some time meandering around the town’s tiny lanes decorated with colourful Tibetan prayer flags. The calm monasteries, such as the well-known Chokling Monastery, radiated peace and devotion.

I also sampled the local cuisine, including momos, thukpa, and butter tea. The people’ genuine welcome added to the attractiveness of this small village.
